My Pagan Beliefs and Ethics: A Personal Life Creed.

I affirm my Self Responsibility.
As an adult, I am the only one responsible for my actions, thoughts, words, deeds and beliefs or lack thereof. No one but me is responsible, not my husband, nor my mother or my father or any kin nor any person of authority. I alone am responsible for me and I alone will bear the consequences of my actions, both desirable and undesirable; intended and unintended.

I affirm my Duty.
Every person has a duty, first to themselves, their family and then to the community that they live in. That is considered the first social contract. To avoid this First Duty is to fail this First Duty. Duty is not to be shirked off or ignored. No duty can be performed unless one accepts responsibility and acknowledge the duty itself. One should not, nay must not accept more duties than what one can perform in daily life.

I affirm the Golden and Silver Rule and understand the limitations of them.
I shall strive to seek for my fellow man what I seek for myself.
I shall strive to respect others as they wish to be respected.

I affirm to walk the Middle Path and understand it’s limitations.
By living with right understanding, thought, speech, action, livelihood, effort, mindfulness and concentration. By living with active avoidance of extremes in life, ever mindful of the twists, turns, bends and cliffhangers of the path of life. By living.

I am Pagan.
That means I am not Christian or Jewish, nor Moslem or a follower of any monotheistic religion. I am one of the others. I am one of the few. I believe in the Many and the None.

I am an Earth Mystic.

That means that I seek everything directly from the divine as I conceive the divine, primarily our world, the earth, nature in her all, creator and created in divine marriage. Worship is rejoice overflowing the heart that never depletes and it can not be forced from a person. Like a river, it will create it’s own path, burst any dam, and erode mountains.

I believe in Divinity as manifest in/within us.
I worship Divinity as manifested in Goddesses and Gods. I acknowledge that Divinity is in no way restrict in form and is everywhere, is everything. I acknowledge that Divinity is multiple, diverse and individualist.

The Teacher, The Guide, The Messiah, The Savior is within each of us.
I believe the Gods communicate directly to our hearts, to our minds, and to our body’s. No man can speak as if they were Gods directly or as a Messenger of Gods. How could they speak with a triple tongue?

I affirm that I know nothing and that I have everything to learn.
I have ideas upon which I place my faith. Those ideas are believed under faith.
May the Gods correct me when I am wrong.

About Isabella LeCour

She is nothing more than the collections of thoughts placed into the virtual worlds. She is a poet, a mother, a lover, many things to different people. But mostly, she is nothing but smoke and mirrors - some ethereal thing that blinks in an out of existence.
